Food and Shelter rooted in Place
URBAN TINY HOUSE
Food and shelter rooted in place
Welcome to our little bed and breakfast, a tiny house accommodation in the beautiful foothills of Cochrane, Alberta. Discover what it feels like to make 247 square feet your home - your charming and lovingly-crafted home, where a hearty homemade breakfast is delivered to your door in the morning.

Our little patch of earth is our home and our desire is to inhabit it deeply. Coaxing what edibles we can from our yard, learning what grows wild, and demonstrating a small-footprint living space are all part of this. We invite you to join us, to relax and be inspired in this place here...or Hereabouts. Welcome to our little slice of urban possibility!
What you can expect
STAYING HERE
Hereabouts B&B is located in Cochrane's longest-established neighbourhood, enjoying the character that comes with large trees and an eclectic mix of homes. It's within easy walking distance of the historic downtown and a link to the Bow River paths.
The tiny house is all yours for the duration of your stay. You may wish to bring ingredients to make your own supper, lunch, or snacks, or treat yourself to a meal at one of Cochrane's restaurants (most within walking distance). Breakfast is included with your stay and will be delivered to you at an agreed-upon time.
The tiny house is situated in our large backyard and has been designed for everyone's privacy, including your own sidewalk that connects you to your parking. Engage with us much or not at all - after check-in, it's entirely up to you!

No pets or smoking, please.

As in... we are here
in this place, our home.

beneath our feet.

Your Hosts
We are Jackie and Bryan Skrypnek, high school sweethearts, long-time Cochrane residents, and co-creators of the tiny house.
Jackie is a mother, holistic nutritionist, gardener, permaculture practitioner, and explorer of all things food. Hereabouts is her brainchild, fusing her passion and knowledge in the areas of regenerative living, food and nutrition, and deepening community. She happily toiled under Bryan's expert foremanship as they added the tiny house to their yard!

Bryan is a father, journeyman carpenter, fly fisherman, camping enthusiast, and guitar dabbler. If the tiny house was Jackie's vision, it was Bryan's building expertise that brought it to fruition. Though not the one likely to check you in or deliver your breakfast, he is a passionate behind-the-scenes supporter!

We both look forward to enriching your lives in some small way and having ours, in turn, enriched by your visit.
